Dax Harwood has long been vocal about wanting WWE to induct one of the greatest tag teams in professional wrestling history, The Midnight Express, into the WWE Hall of Fame.
The Midnight Express are best remembered for their iconic feud with The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express, that defined tag team wrestling for over ten years and spanned promotions such as Mid-South Wrestling, Mid-Atlantic Wrestling (Jim Crockett Promotions), and other territories at various points.
It is still considered to be among the greatest tag team rivalries in professional wrestling history. So intertwined were the two teams that it was The Midnight Express’ manager, Jim Cornette, who inducted Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson into the WWE Hall of Fame in the Class of 2017.
Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler have cited The Midnight Express, who at different times featured Bobby Eaton, Dennis Condrey, and Stan Lane, as the biggest influence and inspiration on their wrestling style and their careers as a whole. In fact, following their departure from WWE, FTR’s finishing maneuver was initially known as ‘The Goodnight Express,’ an homage to the legendary team, before they switched the name to the ‘Big Rig’ in honor of the late Brodie Lee.
Taking to Twitter, Dax Harwood reaffirmed his belief that The Midnight Express should be taking their place in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2023. You can check out his tweet below:
