Former NXT & current STARDOM talent, Deonna Purrazzo, recently spoke with Fightful’s; “The List & Ya Boy” podcast. During their conversation, Purrazzo revealed a weird situation where she had to tryout for the WWE after already competing on NXT TV.
Here’s what Purrazzo had to say:
“It was a bit of a weird situation for me, because I had already worked at NXT quite a few times before I had been given a try-out. I knew a lot of coaches, the trainers and a lot of the superstars that run the camp and help out with it. It was a unique situation because I felt…I don’t want to say comfortable, but I didn’t really have anything to prove. They had seen everything I had. I think it was a bit more of a formality because I had been on their programing for months. I wrestled Nia Jax at NXT my very first time. Right after, they were like ‘hey, we’re going to give you a try-out, you should receive information in the next few weeks.’ It kind of happened in person for me, but I think typically you’d get an email saying ‘we invite you, stay tuned for a formal invitation.’ But for me it was like ‘you’re going to do this.”
