Wrestling fans far and wide know Adam Copeland as the Rated R Superstar, Edge. An in-ring performer since 1998, Edge has been a staple of WWE television for years. Now it seems he’s getting his chance to star in another popular TV series.
A new report from Variety states that Edge will be appearing as Ares, The God of War in the upcoming Percy Jackson series for Disney+. The fantasy series is based on the novels of Rick Riordan. Ares is described as “handsome in a wicked way and arrogant, despite not always being the sharpest tool in the shed. He loves conflict and acts as an agent of chaos wherever he goes.” Edge will be appearing alongside Walker Scobell as Percy Jackson, Aryan Simhadri, Leah Sava Jeffries, Suzanne Cryer, and Jessica Parker Kennedy.
Copeland is no stranger to acting. While away from WWE due to injury, he appeared on such shows as Vikings, Haven, and The Flash. Percy Jackson will stream exclusively on Disney+.
