A former WWE writer has said that Stephanie McMahon was a “fantastic boss” who unnecessarily caught a lot of flack.
Prior to her appointment as co-CEO and Chairwoman last year, McMahon had multiple roles throughout her WWE tenure, including becoming Senior Vice President of Creative Writing in 2006.
Robert Karpeles, a writer for WWE from 2005 to 2007, spoke about working with McMahon in an interview with Wrestling Inc. He said,
“She was a fantastic boss who caught a lot of flack unnecessarily. I think just the nature of being in that role and that idea of, ‘Well, your last name is your last name.’”
McMahon’s most prominent backstage role for WWE was as the company’s Chief Brand Officer, which she served as from 2013 to 2022 prior to being appointed co-CEO/Chairwoman.
