Intercontinental Champion Gunther is well aware of the rumors of WWE possibly being sold, but that’s not his focus right now.
Gunther was called up to WWE’s main roster in early 2022 and captured the Intercontinental title in June.
Speaking to The Dallas Morning News, Gunther addressed rumors of a sale. He said,
“I mean, rumors are rumors. And at the end of the day, I’m not the CEO. I’m a wrestler. So, I focus on what I do in the ring and leave the business to the people that do business.”
The Austrian heavyweight also addressed the departure of Stephanie McMahon, who resigned as WWE’s Chairwoman earlier this week.
“I only had very brief interactions with her. She’s always been very nice and very lovely. I’m happy for her that she’s going to be able now to take time off and enjoy time with her family.”
Gunther will defend his Intercontinental Championship against Braun Strowman on this Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown on FOX.
