Matt Cardona’s days as a WWE Superstar may be a distant memory, but the former NWA Worlds Champion hopes to compete at WrestleMania again.

Cardona’s time as Zack Ryder ended in April 2020 when he was released but the Indy-God has since become a bigger star through his work in various promotions.

On a recent edition of the “Wrestling With Freddie” podcast, Cardona spoke about his career and what he still hopes to achieve. He said,

“This has been the most successful I’ve been in my career, but I would be lying if I said I never wanted to wrestle at Madison Square Garden again or WrestleMania again and a few months ago, I had that match on AEW against Adam Copeland, Edge, and just man I have goosebumps right now thinking about it… If Tony Khan called me or Triple H, I would of course have a conversation, but like I don’t want to be back to be back.”

Cardona added that he doesn’t want to be just another guy on the roster like he was before but hopes that his work outside WWE would count for something if he returned.

Cardona is currently recovering from a torn pectoral muscle he suffered this past April and has since become the General Manager of GameChanger Wrestling (GCW).
