On a recent edition of the “Insight” podcast, Scott D’Amore announced that Mauro Ranallo has accepted the role of the announcer for Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling.
Ranallo has not done any commentary work in wrestling since 2021, but he continues to be involved in MMA and boxing.
D’Amore said, “Mauro Ranallo has agreed to be the voice of Maple Leaf Pro. He’s the man. Mauro has passion for wrestling. I’m so stoked and so honored. The fact that he’s willing to say, ‘Yeah, I want to be part of this,’ to me, is unbelievable. He’s the man. He’s so good.”
As “The Voice” of Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling, Ranallo will handle announcing, promotional vignettes, commercials, and match previews.
Ranallo parted ways with WWE NXT in August 2020. The following year he had a one-off appearance as a guest commentator for Impact Wrestling.
