Suwama is transitioning from AJPW to Evolution Joshi to assume the role of the company’s president.
Tokyo Sports is reporting that the wrestler will step down as Senior Managing Executive Officer of AJPW, a position he has held since March 2021, and will take on the presidency at Evolution Josh Pro-Wrestling in January.
Suwama notified AJPW of his decision to depart in October but agreed to continue as an in-ring performer while leaving his executive role.
Following this change, he is anticipated to participate in significantly fewer matches, and a press conference is scheduled for December 9th.
Suwama previously noted that he contemplated his departure in October to coincide with the 20th anniversary of his career.
