On a recent edition of his “The Snake Pit” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Jake Roberts discussed signing with WCCW following his stint with Georgia Championship Wrestling.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On his departure from Georgia Championship Wrestling: Well, it was really simple, Vince McMahon bought it. Yeah, When he bought it, that was the end of me.”

On deciding to jump to WCCW: “I was still old school. I didn’t buy into Rock n’ Wrestling scenario. I didn’t buy into all that, I thought it was bad for wrestling.”

On the state of WCCW when he joined: “It was crazy, man. Yeah, the boys were just running rampant, man. They did what they wanted to do and when they wanted to do it. You know, they wanted to show up, they showed up. They didn’t, they didn’t, you know. And the bad thing was, you didn’t know what they were going to be like if they showed up. They were running amok. It was pretty sad.”

On the decline of WCCW after the FreeBirds-Von Erichs feud: “Oh, yeah. It was a big nosedive.”
