Global Force Wrestling veteran James Storm, recently sat down with Sporting News to discuss a wide variety of topics ranging from his start in GFW to his time now. Storm goes over Jeff Jarrett as an owner, the feel of the locker room from back in the early 2000’s along with much more.
Here are the highlights: (if you are going to use any of the quotes below, please give credit Sporting News with an H/T to eWrestlingNews for the transcriptions)
Jeff Jarrett Re-Branding The Company:
“You never say never in wrestling but knowing Jeff, he’s been in wrestling forever. His family has always been there with the Memphis wrestling. Even if it wasn’t coming back to Impact Wrestling, it was just a matter of time before he made GFW work just because that’s the kind of guy he is. He’ll make it work somehow no matter what. To see him back in Impact, yeah, it was a surprise for myself.”
The Locker Room In The Early 2000’s:
“I just remember looking around at a locker room and at the time, it was different because we kind of had the locker room with guys who were, I don’t want to say were just coming up but just making their faces well-known on TV like me, Chris Harris, Abyss, AJ, Low Ki, guys like that who had their locker room. Then you had the other guys like Scott Hall, all those guys who had a separate locker room. I just remember looking around and the guys who, like myself, weren’t known yet. We had to go out there and prove ourselves even more to a brand new audience that haven’t seen us.”
James Storm On The Current Talent In GFW:
“I can’t say enough for the guys that have been at ‘Impact’. They kill it no matter who the management is or who owns it. I think there’s been a different drive since Jeff and them took it over because I think a lot of people know Jeff don’t take any B.S. I think people show up and I don’t want to say try harder, but they know that have to go out there and they have to perform at a high level.”
