Jeff Hardy has said he was “crazy nervous” before making his debut for All Elite Wrestling earlier this month.
Hardy joined AEW on the March 9, Dynamite, coming to the aid of his brother Matt who had been betrayed by the Andrade-Hardy Family Office.
Jeff’s debut happened exactly 90 days after his release from WWE following his refusal to enter rehab despite having no drugs in his system.
Speaking on ‘The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy,’ Jeff recalled his debut saying:
“I was crazy nervous that whole day. It was so bizarre. The night before, I had no idea what time my flight would be, if I was going. I kept telling myself, ‘they’re probably going to wait until next week because…’ the interview I did at one of my music shows got leaked and I pretty much plainly said, ‘I’m going to AEW. I didn’t know until this morning.’ People went crazy. ‘Oh, that’s a spoiler,’ but it really wasn’t. All that was rushing through my mind and I thought, ‘Maybe they won’t do it tomorrow.”
Jeff had his first match for AEW last week, teaming with Matt to defeat Private Party.
