Jim Ross has said that Paul ‘Big Show’ Wight was not willing to lose to Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania 23 in 2007.

The April 2007 event marked 20 years after Hogan famously slammed Andre the Giant at WrestleMania 3.

At the time, Wight was on hiatus from WWE TV following a lengthy run as ECW World Champion.

Speaking on a recent episode of Grilling JR, Ross spoke about the match that never took place.

“Other than his back being problematic, he [Wight] didn’t want to job for Hogan. I’m sure Big Show thought ‘It’s my time for Hogan to put me over.’ And that was never in consideration quite frankly.”

Neither Hogan nor Wight appeared at the event, though WWE recreated the infamous Andre slam by having Kane slam The Great Khali during the show.
