John Cena’s return to the ring may be mere days away, according to comments made by his father John Cena Sr.
After over a year away from the ring, Cena Jr. competed on the final SmackDown of 2022, teaming with Kevin Owens to defeat Sami Zayn and Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
Speaking with Sportskeeda, Cena Sr., who considers himself WWE’s first reverse-second-generation Superstar, was asked if fans will see John return tomorrow night. He said,
“I would agree with that, and you know why? I follow the product here and there, and I think it’s heading in the right direction. Stories are beginning to make an awful lot of sense, and I think this is the beginning and I agree with you that yes, we might see him at the Royal Rumble, and I feel pretty great about WrestleMania.”
Cena Jr. is a two-time Royal Rumble winner, having won the 30-man match in 2008 and 2013.
The 16-time WWE World Champion is expected to compete at WrestleMania 39 this April, with names including U.S. Champion Austin Theory and Logan Paul being rumored as potential opponents.
