John Cena will be starring in a new film that will be produced by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Johnson posted the following video to his Instagram account, revealing that Cena will star in a movie titled “The Janson Directive”. Johnson will produce the film through his Seven Bucks company alongside Universal.
According to a teaser and promo for the film, The Janson Directive is an action thriller that Johnson was originally attached to star in, but he moved back to just producing due to his busy filming schedule. Based on Robert Ludlum‘s novel of the same name, the film will star Cena as a former consular ops agent who, after leaving covert operations due to the high number of sanctioned serial killings, goes into business as private security consultant. Teamed with a sharpshooter, Janson only takes assignments that he believes will lead to helping those in need.
