Former WWE Superstar John Morrison would like to see Tony Khan take a page out of Vince McMahon’s playbook if the AEW President purchases WWE.
It was reported this week that Khan and his father Shahid are interested in a merger with WWE, and are on a list of potential buyers.
Speaking on the Comedy Store Wrestling podcast, Morrison, who has competed for WWE and AEW, suggested that Khan recreate McMahon’s intro to the March 26, 2001 episodes of WWF RAW and WCW Monday Nitro. He said,
“It would have to be ‘Rampage’ and ‘SmackDown’ at the same time, when he walked out on both shows, to pull the Vince McMahon.”
On that infamous March 2001 night, McMahon opened both RAW and Nitro and announced his purchase of WCW.
It is believed that the Khans would enlist another financial partner and pool their resources if they were to make an offer to buy WWE.
