Lucha Underground star Johnny Mundo was a recent guest on Colt Cabana’s “Art Of Wrestling” podcast and Mundo gave a hint as to when the tapings for season 4 of Lucha Underground will begin and talks his creative freedom with the promotion.
Here are the highlights:
Johnny Mundo On His Creative Freedom:
“Now it feels like I’m part of a collaboration and I’m talking about storylines. I’m talking about how we can put matches together, where we’re going to go, what’s going to happen with Lucha Underground as a promotion, what’s going to happen with my character and I was back in, suddenly. I felt like the creative autonomy that I didn’t have in WWE, I finally had.”
Hint Of Lucha Underground Tapings:
“We’ll shoot, like, five episodes a weekend and so we’ll work our balls off for like three or four months and then we have this huge offseason. This hiatus we’re in now, we’re going to be maybe 16 months between taping seasons three and four, which, man, is like an eternity in the mind of a pro wrestler.”
Lucha Undergrounds tapings wrapped up last April and a 16-month hiatus would lead us to July of 2017.
