When WrestleMania 23 was over, many believed Ken Anderson, then Mr. Kennedy was on his way to cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase and becoming a World Champion in WWE. However, Anderson ended up losing the briefcase to Edge on Monday Night RAW due to a shoulder injury he suffered, which later was revealed to be nothing more than a hematoma and not an actual serious tear.
Anderson recently spoke about the briefcase debacle during his interview on Steve Fall’s “The Ten Count” podcast.
You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:
On his early run in WWE beating former champions: “It was just ‘hey, let’s start doing this thing and see how it goes.’ I don’t think they had longterm plans or anything like that. I think that it was talked about that like ‘they want to build you up,’ but there was no specific set [plan.]”
On his injury that led to him losing the Money in the Bank briefcase: “Went down to Alabama [the day after losing the briefcase], and I’m sitting on his table and he’s like just feeling my arm and he’s like ‘that’s not a tear.’”
