Former WWE Superstar Ken Shamrock believes he is worthy of an induction into the WWE Hall of Fame, given some of the names already in.
Shamrock debuted in WWF in 1997, holding the Intercontinental and Tag Titles, as well as winning the 1998 King of the Ring.
Since leaving in 1999, Shamrock has never returned to the promotion, but would later join TNA/Impact Wrestling.
Already a Hall of Famer in Impact, Shamrock spoke to the Universal Wrestling podcast about a possible induction:
“I care [about being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame]. I think anybody that does anything at the highest level wants to be recognized for their greatness.
“It’s out of my control. Obviously, I think I did enough for me to be recognized.”
Shamrock joined WWF following a successful run in the UFC, and is credited for bringing submission wrestling and tap-outs to the company.
Promoted as the “World’s Most Dangerous Man,” Shamrock is hopeful of an induction but isn’t too worried.
“If I don’t get into WWE [Hall of Fame], it’s not something I’m going to lose sleep over. I see it as something important, but those are decisions that I cannot control.”
Shamrock was inducted into the Impact Wrestling Hall of Fame this year, and is considered by many to be the promotion’s first World Champion.
