This past weekend, TransGraps in New Hampshire hosted Wrestle Queerdom, which was billed as the first all-transgender/nonbinary/gender-nonconforming event in North America. While this was seen as a landmark event for the community – the event seemed plagued with issues of non-payment.
Kidd Bandit, a standout indie wrestler who has also appeared on AEW television, came to the rescue of several of the aggrieved performers. Bandit offered to assist those who were not paid, as well as offering travel accommodations. They would later tweet updates to the fans, noting that the majority of the talent did receive compensation eventually. Cameron Saturn, Kota Holiday, Candy Lee, and Aiden Von Engeland also weighed in on Twitter regarding the situation as well as detailing some of the interactions and problems during the event. A statement about the event and the organizer was also provided.
If I don’t get paid next week I’ll write up a think piece
