At Starrcade 1999, Madusa pinned Evan Karagias to become the first female ever to win the WCW World Cruiserweight Championship.
Spice, who was Evan’s ally, turned on the then-champion by nailing him with a low blow during his title defense against Madusa, thereby allowing the blonde Diva to dethrone him.
During a recent virtual signing for K & S WrestleFest, Madusa discussed her WCW World Cruiserweight Title victory at Starrcade 1999. The WWE Hall of Famer was confused about winning the men’s title at the event. She said,
“Confused. I was like ‘Why wouldn’t they give me the Ladies Championship?’ Somebody there didn’t like me.”
Madusa dropped the title to Oklahoma at WCW Souled Out 2000 the following month.
