It was previously reported that AEW star Malakai Black was granted a release from the company. Reports noted that Black’s release may’ve included a non-compete clause.
According to Northeast Wrestling’s Instagram account, Black will no longer be appearing at their show this Friday, September 9th, due to “health issues.” Black originally was scheduled to wrestle former ROH World Champion Matt Taven. The promotion announced that Jay Lethal and nZo would take Black’s place.
Black competed in a trios match this past weekend at All Out. After the match, he appeared to give a goodbye gesture to the crowd.
