Former WWE Superstar Matt Morgan has opened up about the promotion’s plans to make him a sibling of Kane and The Undertaker.
Morgan signed with WWE in April 2002 and would remain with the promotion until July 2005.
During an interview with Chris Van Vliet on his Insight podcast, Morgan confirmed the long-standing rumors that WWE planned to re-introduce him as ‘Abel’ the masked third sibling of the Brothers of Destruction.
At the time, Morgan had been sent back to OVW where he was a babyface, and recalled OVW’s booker Jim Cornette being unhappy at the news. He said,
“Johnny Ace and Stephanie [McMahon] wanted me to wear a mask to work on my body language, right? And so I remember Jim Cornette just being like, what? What are you doing? He’s like our top babyface champion. Why have you got to wear this? This is stupid, like, totally put me over. And I’ll always be grateful to Jimmy for that.”
After a run in TNA Wrestling, Morgan retired from wrestling in 2019 to focus on his political career.
In 2017, Morgan switched from Democrat to Republican and ran for office in the Republican-leaning Longwood Florida.
