On October 29th, Alex Hammerstone publicly revealed that he had requested his release from Major League Wrestling (MLW).
Through a Twitter video, the former MLW World Heavyweight Champion said that although MLW had informed him that they were working on his release, they had stated to the media that they would not be granting it. Hammerstone pointed out that he is not listed on MLW’s roster page, featured in the MLW Fusion intro video package, and has not received any communication regarding future bookings. He has also not been utilized for over 100 days.
He later returned to MLW last month where he laid Alex Kane and Jacob Fatu out after their MLW World Title match.
In a post today on Twitter, Hammerstone noted that he will officially become a free agent on January 1.
Last night was my last event under my current contract.
January 1st I will officially be a free agent.
