WWE Hall of Famer Molly Holly has weighed in on working with William Regal early into her career, following the latter’s return to the promotion.
Regal returned to WWE after departing AEW last month and is now Vince McMahon’s Vice President of Global Talent Development.
Prior to becoming the third member of the Holly family (after Bob and Crash) to debut in the WWF, Molly worked as Lady Ophelia, a valet for Regal during dark matches.
Speaking on Highspots’ ‘Sign-It-Live,’ Holly spoke about being introduced to Regal early into her WWE career. She said,
“I was in developmental, and they put me with William Regal [as] just kind of a manager. I’d interfere somewhat. [It was] mostly so he could mentor me, and I could observe what he was doing. We became friends, and we’re still friends today.”
The two-time WWE Women’s Champion returned to WWE in 2021 as a producer and has received praise for her work backstage.
Regal cannot appear on WWE TV as an on-screen talent until 2024 due to the conditions of his AEW release.
