Pwinsider is reporting that plans are underway for the launch of an all-new women’s wrestling promotion in the United States that will feature all Japanese-based talents.
The new wrestling company will reportedly use female talents from existing Japanese promotions and run their events in the United States.
Moreover, the prospective promotion wants to get ahead of its competitors with high production values and do more than just display the product in the ring to create a different ‘atmosphere’ for its events.
The idea is to make the events have the vibe of authentic Joshi wrestling and also raise the show’s profile to larger audiences outside the general pro wrestling fanbase.
The body behind the promotion is reportedly investing significant resources and is reportedly enlisting notable names across entertainment, media, wrestling, and fashion businesses for their front office.
The prospective promotion has already booked a date in New York City for its debut this September.
In other news, the tag team match featuring The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) vs. Lio Rush and Nick Aldis will headline tonight’s episode of Impact Wrestling on AXS TV. The broadcast begins at 8:00 PM EST.
