The NJPW contract statuses of Hikuleo and El Phantasmo are unclear, although both had contracts that either expired or soon will.
According to a report from Fightful Select, the last word was that El Phantasmo’s deal expired this past January following Wrestle Kingdom.
Meanwhile, Hikuleo’s contract is said to expire in June.
Both wrestlers are still actively teaming together in New Japan and also performed at the NJPW “Windy City Riot 2024” event on Friday night.
Hikuleo was in talks with WWE last year before Vince McMahon forced his way back into the company and put a lot of potential signings on hold.
