Two teams have been announced for the NJPW World Tag League 2024, set to commence on November 19.

Tokyo Sports is reporting that Tetsuya Naito will join forces with Hiromu Takahashi for the tournament. At the same time, Hiroshi Tanahashi and Jado will also form a team.

Previously, Hiromu teamed with BUSHI in the Super Junior Tag League, finishing with a record of 2-3.

Naito said, “Watching the league matches from nearby, I thought that the BUSHI-Hiromu team was by far the No. 1 in terms of presence and the expectations of the fans. Even in that situation, Takahashi Hiromu, my eyes were glued to you, although it’s frustrating. It’s not about revenge for SJTL, no, that’s not it. Let’s challenge the World Tag League with this tag team that transcends weight classes, me and Hiromu.”

The winners of the World Tag League will earn a World Tag Team Title match at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 19.

Davey Boy Smith Jr. clinched the ultimate prize in AJPW this past weekend, becoming the Triple Crown Champion at the Giant Series 2024.

Smith Jr. won the title by pinning Yuma Aoyagi. He is now among a select group of wrestlers to attain the status of Triple Crown Champion, joining the ranks of Vader, Dr. Death Steve Williams, Terry Gordy, and others.

Smith Jr. has been a part of AJPW since late 2023.

WWE Superstar Natalya congratulated him on Twitter. She wrote,

I’m so proud of you @DBSmithjr!!!! Ever since you were a kid, you wanted this. I’m so happy for you and you’ve worked so hard for this. AND NEW ALL JAPAN TRIPLE CROWN WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMP!!!!!!
