Kevin Knight, who is one half of the current IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions, is nearing the expiration of his New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) contract, with the deal set to end in the coming days.
According to a report from Fightful Select, NJPW is eager to retain Knight, and contract negotiations are expected to begin shortly. Knight’s contract situation has caught the attention of major American wrestling promotions, with talks reportedly taking place regarding his future.
Knight has already made appearances in TNA Wrestling earlier this year, where he received significant praise from both TNA and NJPW talents.
Knight is also slated to defend his IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Titles at Wrestle Kingdom 18 on January 4, where he and his partner Kushida will put the titles on the line in a Four-Way Tokyo Terror Ladder Match against the Ichiban Sweet Boys, Catch 2/2, and the Bullet Club War Dogs.
