As we all know, upon Jinder Mahal’s WWE return several years ago he eventually found himself in a WWE Championship run. It turns out that wasn’t always the plan for “The Modern Day Maharaja.”
Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet reports that the initial plans for Mahal was for him to be a self-appointed backstage authority figure of sorts. Much like the Constable Corbin character we see on Monday Night RAW from Baron Corbin right now:
When Jinder Mahal re-signed with WWE, there was a pitch to have his character be known as “The Mahal Monitor”where he’d act as a sort of self-appointed authority figure of the backstage hallways of WWE. Glad we didn’t get that instead of “The Constable.”
