AEW’s Paul Wight has responded to claims that Mercedes Mone’ could soon be All Elite, saying that she would be an “asset” to any promotion.
Mone’, aka Sasha Banks, debuted for New Japan Pro Wrestling at this week’s Wrestle Kingdom 17 event.
When TMZ caught up to Wight, they asked whether Mone’ could sign with AEW as some have rumored. He said,
“I think she’d be a tremendous asset to any company. She’s a star and has an incredible fan following. Any company would be glad to have her.”
Wight also addressed that there is more competition for WWE now than ever before.
“For a long time, everyone got spoiled because there was one company to work for. Now there are multiple viable companies again to work for.”
There had been speculation that Mone’ would be Saraya’s partner for her upcoming tag-team match on next week’s episode of Dynamite, but Toni Storm has been announced as her partner.
Mone’ will face IWGP Women’s Champion KAIRI for the title at NJPW Battle in the Valley on February 18.
