During a recent appearance on the Under the Ring podcast, former WWE Superstar Real1 (Enzo Amore) discussed his growth in the ring since signing with Major League Wrestling (MLW).

Real1 was suspended from WWE on January 22, 2018, due to his sexual assault allegations and fired just a few days later.

On November 6, 2021, at War Chamber, Real1 made his MLW debut, defeating Matt Cross in singles action.

The two-time WWE Cruiserweight Champion also named Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as his dream opponent for a promo battle.

You can check out some highlights from the interview below:

On which talent he’d want to have a promo battle with: “The Rock. Because I think he was so over  — and he still is — and that’s what it really boils down to. If you’re the most over, then you’re going to elicit the greatest reactions in the ring. So why would I want to work against anybody else but the biggest star this business has ever seen?”

On Rock not writing his promos by himself: “Let it be known he took a writer with him from the WWE straight to Hollywood, all right? Well I’ll be damned if I ever say anything anybody else writes beside me. You know how hard I had to fight to say the words coming out of my mouth?”

Real1 on his growth in MLW: “[My growth] is on display in Major League Wrestling. If you watch the first 6-7 months of Major League Wrestling, I didn’t even pick up a microphone. When I busted through the door, I wanted to have some matches against some credible opponents, I stacked some wins under my belt and had a lot of fun.”

On getting hired by WWE based off a viral video he posted on YouTube: “I got hired based on a workout video where I was talking smack on YouTube. That went viral, and I never wrestled before in my life, so to go from YouTube to WWE and college football.”
