As previously reported here on eWn, Sammy Guevara and Andrade El Idolo were involved in a backstage altercation before the October 5th edition of AEW Dynamite. While Andrade was sent home following the fight, Guevara still wrestled in the main event.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio and Fightful Select, Guevara was not sent home because he did not throw a punch. Although both men were warned beforehand, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez suggested that a ‘sucker punch’ from Andrade was what caused the chaos backstage. Another account suggested Andrade was waiting for Sammy before the show and decided to throw two punches. However, Guevara didn’t appear to show any marks on him during the main event.
