CM Punk has undergone surgery for a torn left triceps injury.
As we previously reported here on eWn, the now-former AEW World Champion was injured during his match with Jon Moxley at last Sunday’s All Out 2022 pay-per-view event.
CM Punk would later go off during the post-show media scum, which resulted in a physical confrontation with The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega taking place backstage. All of the names involved in the fight have since been suspended, with AEW President Tony Khan vacating both the World Championship and the World Trios Championships on Dynamite without explanation.
The recovery time for a triceps surgery is typically around eight months. It was also noted by Dave Meltzer that CM Punk’s doctor recommended having surgery quickly to avoid muscle atrophy.
In other news, AEW celebrated PAC’s status as the first double champion in company history. The company took to Twitter on Friday with the following tweet:
“#AEW All-Atlantic & World Trios Champion, @BASTARDPAC.
First-ever double champion in AEW history.”
