According to a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW Superstars The Lucha Bros (Penta El Zero M and Rey Fenix) will be defending both the AEW and AAA tag team titles on episodes of Dynamite and Rampage going forward. During this week’s show, the AAA belts were briefly mentioned by the commentary team.
The idea for The Lucha Bros to defend both sets of titles came from AEW President Tony Khan. The plan is for the AAA belts to be defended in Mexico and the United States, with others from AEW being involved in the storylines.
