As many of you know by now, WWE fired multiple “top executives” who worked in their multimedia and advanced media divisions on Tuesday. Some of the names included supervisors and managers. According to a report from Deadline, there were also massive cuts in the WWE Studios division. As reported on Tuesday, there were numerous layoffs in WWE’s features, TV and digital/social media division. WWE President Nick Khan was the person who delivered the news to all of the released staff.
WWE also made major cuts in the Advanced Media Group and TV departments. There were also big time cuts in their international offices. As far as the WWE Studios department is concerned, it was said to have been a “bloodbath.”
As of now, WWE Studios has an upcoming animated film “Rumble” from Paramount Animation planned. That film has been delayed several times and is currently set to debut in January of 2022. WWE Studios has also been working on a multi-part documentary on Vince McMahon. That show is expected to air on Netflix at some point.
The staff cuts on Tuesday come after WWE fired several talents on their main roster back in April. The company also fired several NXT Superstars last week and it’s rumored that NXT UK cuts will be coming by the end of the week.
