According to a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has been reaching out to numerous United States indie promotions in recent weeks, trying to acquire some additional tape libraries. The purpose of doing this is to pick up new content for the WWE Network.
WWE has been doing this for several years now and the recent attempts to pick up content were for the proposed premium tier idea that WWE was planning. Of course, Vince McMahon recently talked about “transformative changes” coming to the WWE Network shortly so there is no word on where their premium tier plan is currently at.
