Former WWE NXT North American Champion, Ricochet recently spoke with The Mirror about a variety of topics, including who could be the next breakout star.
Who he thinks could breakout next in NXT:
“It was pretty cool; even getting nominated it was really cool, and winning it was also really cool. I dunno, to have that support from the fans, from the NXT universe, it was really awesome to me. And I’m happy what I can do can bring joy to them enough to vote for me.
“To be honest next year it’s really up for anybody, there are so many guys here that could just break out at any moment – whether it’s Keith Lee or Dominik Dijakovic or Matt Riddle, there’s so many guys. One of the new guys named Stacey Ervine, he’s gonna be really good.”
On possibly teaming with Kacy Catanzaro:
“Kacy and I, we’ve already had a couple of mixed tag team matches here at NXT that I thought came out really well. We already have a couple of double team moves that we have in our back pocket that we can pull out at any moment!
“I think that we just match really well, not just being together, but stylistically we go really well together. I’m trying to think, I guess that she’s the only one that I’d want in my corner.”
What is next for him:
“Honestly, that’s kind of the beauty with losing the title, now anything is open. Whether I want to go for [NXT Champion] Tommaso [Ciampa], whether I want to go for Johnny [Gargano]… anything is real. I don’t see that as a setback, I see it as a step forward. An evolution of Ricochet.
“As soon as I get an opportunity, whether it’s for the NXT Championship, the North American Championship, and the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic is coming up soon, so whether it’s the NXT Tag Team Championship… that’s the beauty within losing, it’s like an open world. There’s so many avenues I can go down.”
