WWE Hall of Famer ‘Road Dogg’ Jesse James has praised the efforts of AEW’s Adam Cole, who he believes surpasses him on the mic.
During a recent edition of his “Oh You Didn’t Know” podcast, James spoke about the importance of wordage in promos, and when asked for his opinion of Cole, he gave the AEW wrestler his due. He said,
“I’m going to be honest … he can work really good. That matters to me when I’m thinking about sports entertainers. He’s really good in the ring. However, he is also, I would argue, a lot better than me on a microphone.
“His promo skills are impressive and that’s that. That’s that, man … I can’t say anything bad about the kid, because he’s extremely respectful and professional and can say everything you want him to say in exactly the tone you want him to say it in and never curse or never cross a sponsor line or never irritate the people, never have to push the censor button on him.
“He’s just an extremely professional, respectful kid that has just [an] incredible amount of promo skills.”
Cole is a former WWE NXT Champion and triple-crown winner and competed for the AEW World Championship at AEW All In 2023 last month.
Cole & MJF will defend the ROH World Tag Team Championships against The Righteous at the upcoming AEW WrestleDream pay-per-view event on October 1.
