Ring of Honor sent a press release about their agreement with online video platform Ooyala for video hosting, live and on-demand streaming.
Ooyala streams over one billion videos to 200 million unique viewers in over 30 countries per month. In addition to Ring of Honor, they have streamed videos for major companies like ESPN, Pac-12 Enterprises, Miramax, Bloomberg, Rolling Stone, Dell and more.
ROH says that their fans can expect:
-Faster load times
-Adaptive bitrate streaming on all devices for the highest quality streams on PCs, iPads, iPhones, android tablets, laptops, etc. This means that there will be no more buffering.
-Live DVR functionality for internet pay per views – Fans can use the DVR functions during live events, which means if you join late, you can watch from the beginning, skip to a later time or join the show live.
-Instant Availability of Replays.
The live streaming part of this deal will be ready in time for the promotion’s Final Battle event this year. Over the next month, all video on demand content and TV episodes will appear on Ooyala. In 2013, ROH plans to implement more techniques to improve the quality of their videos online. You can order Final Battle: Doomsday here.
