AEW President Tony Khan has high hopes for Chris Jericho’s reign as Ring of Honor World Champion and what it could mean for ROH’s long-term future.
Jericho won the gold last month from Mark Briscoe during an episode of AEW Dynamite in a ladder match after an assist from Big Bill.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it is reported that negotiations are close to Ring of Honor receiving a deal to air on television.
The idea behind Jericho’s win is that having him as the face of the brand will mean much more during negotiations about a deal.
Jericho previously held the title in 2022 and this latest reign is his ninth World Title in his career. ROH currently airs exclusively on the HonorClub service.
