AEW President Tony Khan paid tribute to the late Joe Koff prior to last night’s ROH, Battle of the Belts and AEW Collision TV tapings.
Before the filming began, “TK” came out to speak about Koff, who passed away from cancer on Tuesday.
Khan said he wanted to speak about Koff and said he’s the person who kept ROH alive. Khan said that Koff was always good to him and called his passing a loss for professional wrestling as a whole. He said that Koff came to him about buying ROH, looking to keep the company alive and seeing Khan as someone who would keep it in business and keep those who worked there employed. Khan said it was an honor to be able to buy the company and said its being alive today is thanks to Koff. He then led the audience in a “Joe” chant.
