Roman Reigns is still your Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
At Saturday night’s WWE Elimination Chamber 2023 pay-per-view event in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Reigns defeated Sami Zayn in the main event to retain his title.
In a back-and-forth match that saw multiple near falls, including Zayn kicking out of all of Reigns’ finishing maneuvers and some interference by Jimmy Uso, it was Reigns who was able to nail Zayn with multiple chair shots and a spear to pick up the 1, 2, 3.
At one point during the match, Jey Uso came out and was handed a chair by the “Tribal Chief.” The former refused to hit Zayn with the chair. Instead, Zayn accidently hit Jey with a spear that was meant for Roman.
Following the match, Roman Reigns was about to inflict more pain on Zayn, but Kevin Owens came out for the save. This resulted in Owens hitting stunners on Roman and Jimmy, and then putting Jimmy through the announce table.
Reigns title reign now stands at 902 days.
