Roman Reigns is WWE’s most dominant Superstar in recent years, but that only came after a failed run in the NFL according to the Tribal Chief.

Before entering the ring, Reigns played for the Minnesota Vikings and the Jacksonville Jaguars on the off-season and practice teams for both.

Speaking on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast, Reigns recalled his tenure on the gridiron which didn’t go as planned.

“I didn’t come in like as a Logan Paul or like you know what I mean. I came in as a ex failed Football Player who had to go to a warehouse and figure it out and they brought us in as a group as the S.H.I.E.L.D early on.

“Then once I started finding those broad strokes, the basics [of] how to A) Wrestle and B) Wrestle on Television, you know what I mean and all those details that you’re learning that come with that.”

In 2008, Reigns would play for the Canada Football League’s Edmonton Eskimos, before being released and retiring from football.

Reigns’ last Undisputed WWE Universal Championship defense came at WWE Clash at the Castle, where the Head of the Table retained against Drew McIntyre.
