UPDATE: As we reported earlier today here on eWn, Simone Johnson will be using the ring name of “Ava Raine” in WWE.
The Rock’s daughter has since taken to Twitter to react to the criticism of her new name. She sent out a series of tweets, which you can see below:
“i probably sound like a broken record & hopefully this is the last i’ll mention this but i don’t understand why people being portrayed as separate individuals from their family name is such a heated topic.
a name doesn’t discredit any prior accomplishments from any family”

ORIGINAL: WWE developmental talent Simone Johnson, who is the daughter of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, recently updated her Twitter handle to reflect her new WWE ring name.
Earlier this month, WWE trademarked the name “Ava Raine” and it was reported at the time that it would be used for Simone Johnson. The trademark was filed on May 13th.
Johnson signed a WWE developmental deal in February 2020.
