The Ormand Beach Observer in Florida reported today that WWE Hall of Famer Tammy “Sunny” Sytch was involved in a three car accident that led to the death of one of the other drivers on March 25th.
The report states Sytch failed to stop at 8:28PM EST and crashed into a stopped vehicle, which then crashed into a vehicle that was stopped in front of it.
The driver of the stopped car struck by Sytch was pronounced dead after being rushed to Halifax Health Medical Center. Sytch was hospitalized as well but later released. The driver who was killed in the accident has been identified as Julian Lafrancis Lasseter of Daytona Beach Shores.
A search warrant was approved and executed to obtain a blood sample. The police are using the sample to investigate if Sytch was impaired at the time of the crash. Toxicology results are pending.
“Our hearts go out to the Lasseter family that lost their loved one in such a tragic event,” Ormond Beach Police Chief Jesse Godfrey said. “Our goal at the Ormond Beach Police Department is to keep city roadways safe, so if you see a vehicle operating in a manner that leads you to believe the driver may be impaired, please don’t hesitate to call 911. You may just save someone’s life.”
Additionally, the driver and passengers in the third vehicle suffered injuries, but were not transported to the hospital.
