Ted DiBiase Sr. may have nothing against Bill Goldberg as a person but he isn’t sure if the former WCW World Heavyweight Champion deserved his massive push.
Goldberg’s arrival in WCW would see the former football player rack up a 173-0 winning streak and reigns as U.S. Champion, World Champion, and Tag-Team Champion.
During a recent Q&A from his “Everybody’s Got A Pod” podcast, DiBiase Sr. was asked for his thoughts on Goldberg’s push. He said,
“As a person, I have nothing against Goldberg. I don’t know that he was ever worthy of the position he was given. I would put it this way, it’s like, what was Goldberg already known for? Football. Here’s a guy who is very well known for his football talent, and we’re going to try to make a wrestling star out of that, based on the celebrity he has already got from being a football player. I just don’t know that it works.
“I don’t have anything against the guy, more power to him, if you get a shot take it. I don’t see him as far as wrestling goes, a great talent in any way.”
Goldberg joined WWE in 2003 and would return to the promotion in 2016, with the Hall of Famer holding World Championships in both runs.
