The Rock and Pat McAfee made surprise returns to WWE on this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown.
In the opening segment of the show, Pat McAfee came out to welcome everyone to SmackDown. This brought out Austin Theory, who went back-and-forth on the mic with the part-time WWE announcer and ESPN College Gameday host.
As the two men traded barbs on the stick, McAfee told Theory that WWE SmackDown would never be his show because it’s “The People’s Show.” This brought out The Rock to a massive pop from the fans in Denver, Colorado.
The Rock did his usual shtick on the mic, with Theory firing back with his own zingers at times. The Great One then led the crowd in a loud “You’re an assh*ole” chant which was bleeped out by the censors. The segment came to an end with The Rock hitting Theory with a spinebuster and The People’s Elbow. Pat McAfee followed suit with his own People’s Elbow.
