Lionel Messi’s Argentina won the 2022 FIFA World Cup on Sunday after beating defending champions France 4-2 on penalties, following a dramatic 3-3 draw after 120 minutes.
Messi’s PSG teammate Kylian Mbappe became the second player in the history of the World Cup final to score a hat-trick as the youngster laid claim to the Golden Boot (8 goals). Messi won the Golden Ball.
