AJ Francis is open to returning to WWE as part of the ongoing collaboration with TNA Wrestling, but under one unique condition.
2024 has seen TNA talent appear for WWE NXT and vice versa, with appearances occurring on TV as well as pay-per-view events.
On a recent edition of the “Straight Talk Wrestling” podcast, Francis was asked if he’d be open to being part of the partnership. He said,
“Absolutely, but I wouldn’t do it without Swanny, I wouldn’t do without Rich Swann. You know, he kind of got a raw deal when he left too. So, you know, not to mention, we’re the hottest tag team in wrestling, I don’t care what anyone says. So, you know, I wouldn’t go without him, I’ve always looked out for my people, just like when I re-signed to WWE, I told Hunter [Triple H], I wouldn’t go without Tehuti [Ashante Adonis] and Briana [B-Fab]. That’s the kind of guy I am.”
Rich Swann was released from WWE in 2018. He is currently suspended from TNA due to being arrested for disorderly intoxication.
Francis competed in WWE as Top Dolla and was part of Hit Row. He was released from the promotion in 2021 and after being brought back, was cut again in 2023.
Next week, WWE NXT will premiere on The CW Network and TNA X-Division Champion Zachary Wentz will face NXT’s Wes Lee in a street fight.
