TNA Wrestling recently announced that Scott D’Amore is out as the TNA President. Anthony Cicione will be replacing him.
D’Amore has been terminated by TNA’s parent company, Anthem Sports and Entertainment, with the belief that the decision came from Anthem owner Len Asper. D’Amore had made an offer to buy TNA outright with the backing of a major banking institution, but it was rejected.
Fightful Select is reporting that the process of terminating D’Amore had already begun a month ago. Anthem expressed their intention to portray it as a mutual departure, something D’Amore was against.
Although D’Amore preferred not to label it as such, the wording was chosen by company executives for D’Amore’s benefit.
